Agent workplace

An agent workplace is a durable computer plus the people and bots that share it. The point is useful work over time: files that persist, a screen someone can watch, and teammates who remember the organization — not a transcript that vanishes when the tab closes.

Chatticus treats that workplace as an organization-scoped Linux computer. Bots are named teammates on it. A turn may start before the computer is ready; the workplace is summoned when the work needs it, not assumed at login.

Neighboring ideas

A workplace can host a software factory. It isn't the same idea as digital labor sold as a seat replacement, or an always-on companion whose only job is to wait in a sidebar.

It's also not a zoo of models. A catalog of weights is a vendor page. The workplace is where chosen models work.

Names people use

The industry doesn't agree on a noun. Names for the workplace tracks the metaphors in circulation — factory, farm, desk, control room, assembly line — and which ones collide with other products.

Chatticus's own picture is farms and desks: specialized bots at durable desks on one shared computer — neither a swarm nor a single acting coworker.
